William E. "Bill" Davis is a faculty member at the University of Miami's Information Technology Executive Institute.  With 30 years of IT and business experience, including multiple tenures as Chief Information Officer and other executive positions, Bill is well versed in corporate balanced scorecard, applications development, IT methods and standards plus global telecommunications. He was heavily involved in successful ISO9000-2000 certifications plus the implementation of SAP, Siebel, E-business strategies, corporate balanced scorecards and five-year strategic roadmaps. Bill has worked in various industries including air and ground transportation, law enforcement, banking, finance, security and technology.  Mr. Davis is the co-author of Telephony and the author of The Foundation Guide - Management Tools for the Serious Executive.  Over 300 companies in the USA, Europe and South America are successfully using it.  He has lectured in the United States and Japan on the uses of manufacturing and industrial engineering techniques to improve IT organization effectiveness.  Bill has worked for Bank of America, American Airlines, Boeing, Ryder, Schneider, Nevada Highway Patrol and Cabletron.  He is the Executive Vice President and Founding Principle of Magellan Associates The winner of several Gold Medal awards and honors from industry organizations, Bill has a BS from Washington State University and an MBA from Golden Gate University at San Francisco.

Robert L. Perrin is a faculty member at the University of Miami's Information Technology Executive Institute. He has more than 30 years of information technology and business experience, including multiple tenures as Chief Information Officer. His specific areas of expertise include organization re-tooling, organizational alignment, change management, sales force automation, knowledge management, logistics, distribution, plus disciplined processes and controls. Mr. Perrin has experience in various industries including ground and air transportation, insurance, and finance. He has worked for United Airlines, Security Pacific National Bank, GATX, Allstate Insurance, Ryder, American Hospital Supply and Moore Business Forms.  Bob has been recognized for his work on company and national levels including the Malcolm Baldrige Award. He is the President and Founding Principle of Magellan Associates. He is a member of the Society of Information Management, the Zachman Institute for Information Architecture, and the Project Management Institute. Bob is a Board member of the IT Senior Management Forum.  Mr. Perrin holds a BS from Illinois State University.
Douglas S. Tyre is a technology professional, educator and consultant with over 23 years of experience in management, technology operations, business and systems analysis, system administration, networking, security and virtualization for various industries, but with particular expertise in the higher education and energy sectors.

A consummate instructor, Mr. Tyre joined the University of Miami Information Technology Department’s NGJ Information System’s Institute in 1998. For over 11 years, he has developed and taught systems and technology courses for clients such as Hewlett Packard, Dell, IBM and more. Mr. Tyre currently serves as an in-house UNIX subject matter expert and is certified trainer for UNIX, Linux, ITIL, VMWare, Red Hat, and IBM AIX for the University of Miami’s Executive Information and Technology Institute.

Before joining the University of Miami, Mr. Tyre held various positions at Florida Power and Light (FPL) Group. As Director of New Markets Customer Care, he managed all functions of the customer service division including help desk operations. As an FPL Customer Care Business Planning Analyst, he was responsible for leading and managing new initiatives for all FPL call center operations. Prior to that, Mr. Tyre was a Systems Analyst and Total Quality Control Facilitator for FPL.

During his tenure at FPL Group, Mr. Tyre was a member of the work group that completed the requirements for the Deming Medal for outstanding commitment to and exceptional advances in quality control. FPL Group was awarded the Deming Prize in 1989 and at that time was the first company outside of Japan to ever receive it. Mr. Tyre is a native of Miami, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree in Business and Economics from the University of Alabama and his Master of Science in Technology Management degree from the University of Miami.

Jacqueline M. Zelman Director, University of Miami’s Executive Information and Technology Institute and its Johnson A. Edosomwan Leadership Institute.
Ms. Zelman has over thirty years of leadership experience in information technology and higher education management. She joined the University of Miami in 2005 to provide leadership for UM’s Information and Technology Executive Institute. Previously she worked for Miami Dade College for over seven years as CIO and Vice-Provost for Communication, Computing, and Information Resources. She was responsible for implementing the College’s ERP system, the coordination of administrative and academic technologies, telecommunications, and establishing college-wide standards for desktops, media, and network. She came to the College from Florida International University where she was Director of Computer Services for over eight years. At FIU she was responsible for administrative and academic computing, the University Computer Store, IT training, as well as strategic and operational planning. Ms. Zelman has extensive experience in student and library operations and systems.

Currently she serves in leadership positions in many professional and civic organizations such as the Miami-Dade Broadband Coalition, the South Florida Chapter of the Society for Information Management, the City of Miami Citizens Technology Advisory Board and the Advisory Board of ITWomen. Ms. Zelman earned her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida International University, her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons College and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Douglass College, Rutgers University.

Dr. M. Lewis Temares is CIO, Vice President for Information Technology, and Dean Emeritus of the College of Engineering at the University of Miami. He leads a staff of 300 employees responsible for all aspects of computing and telecommunications with a $40 million budget. Dr. Temares joined the University of Miami in 1980 and later became the first officially designated Chief Information Officer in higher education in the United States, while simultaneously serving as Dean of the College of Engineering from 1994-2007. Selected as one of the “Premiere 100 IT Leaders in the World”, he led the University of Miami IT Department to place in the top 10 of ComputerWorld’s “Best Places to Work” for 8 consecutive years, a distinction only the University of Miami can claim.

Dr. Temares served on the Board of Directors of The Main Street America Group, an insurance conglomerate composed of NGM Insurance Company, Old Dominion Insurance Company, Main Street America Assurance Company and MSA Insurance Company from 2004 to 2009. In 2008, he joined the Board of Directors of eLandia, a leading technology enabler focused on business transformation through integration, education and infrastructure solutions.

He earned his undergraduate degree from City College in New York, an M.B.A. from Baruch College, an M.S. in Business from Columbia University of New York, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Marketing and Statistics from the City University of New York. A frequent keynote speaker, author, and presenter at academic, business and information technology conferences, Dr. Temares has consulted with governmental agencies, private companies, and multinational organizations alike. He is often cited in national publications and is a senior member of IEEE, a Fellow in the American Marketing Society and a member of multiple executive councils and advisory boards including the Dell Platinum Council and Microsoft Higher Education Advisory Group.
